You do not need wraps and gloves for your first class, but if you have them, we encourage you to bring them. There are also wraps and gloves available for purchase at the studio.

Q: Which class should I take for my first time?

To get started, take one our SheTechnique classes, they are available all throughout the week. This class will help you build strong technical foundations, including your stance, how to hold your fists, basic striking, and basic combinations. Our coaches will provide individualized adjustments and feedback throughout the class to guide your progress.

Q: Do you have classes for kids?

Yes! We have kids classes for children ages 4-13 years old at 4:30 - 5:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Sunday.

Our kids classes include a mix of martial arts techniques, drills, and also fun and games. Our kids classes are designed to build martial arts skills while teaching character traits like discipline, respect, and teamwork.

Children in our kids' classes are required to attend class in uniform (gi uniform), to create a sense of unity, limit distractions, and support a focused environment for learning.

Q: Are your classes LGBTQ+ friendly?

Yes! At SheFighter we are proud to serve the 2SLGBTQ+ community by providing a safe and inclusive space to train. Queer, trans, and non-binary folks are always welcome!

Q: I bought a membership/class passes/drop in pass, which class(es) am I able to attend?

You may attend any of our Pink Level classes including SheTechnique, SheCombo, SheStrikes, SheKicks, and SheProtects. Once you have passed the Pink Level Test, you may attend Silver Level classes and any Pink Level classes.

Q: What is the SheFighter Level System and why do we have to go through it?

The SheFighter Level System is a progressive training journey designed to help every woman build confidence, strength, and self-defense skills step by step — starting from the basics, regardless of previous fitness or martial arts experience.

The system combines elements from boxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and practical self-defense techniques to create a complete and empowering training experience. Each level introduces new skills, challenges, and techniques while ensuring students build a strong foundation before advancing.

The purpose of the Level System is to give you clear goals to work toward and help you track your personal growth. As you progress through each level, you will improve your physical fitness, technique, focus, discipline, and confidence.

Whether you are starting from zero or have previous experience, the SheFighter Level System provides a structured path that keeps you motivated, challenged, and continuously growing.

Q: How many classes do I need to go to before I test for the Silver Level?

Typically, students need to attend 20-30 classes before they are ready to take their first test. We recommend training 2-3x per week for a few months in order to build your skills and a strong technical foundation.

Q: What classes do I need to go to in order to be ready for my Test?

Before your First test, you should attend a variety of classes including SheTechnique, SheStrikes, SheKicks, SheCombo and Self-defense classes. Start with 2-3 SheTechnique classes a week to build your technical foundation, stance, and basic combinations. Once you feel comfortable with basic combinations, you may start attending other classes to refine your skills and build on your attack and defense techniques.

Q: Will I know which techniques I need to train before testing for the Silver Level?

Yes. Before your Silver Level test, you will receive an email outlining the techniques, classes, and training areas you should focus on to help you prepare.

We will also notify our trainers that you are preparing for your test so they can support you during your classes, help you revise the required techniques, and provide guidance to ensure you feel confident and ready.

Our goal is to make sure every student has the resources, support, and preparation needed to successfully progress to the next level.

Q: What if I have a background in another martial art? Can I join the Silver Level classes?

We love welcoming members with experience in other martial arts! However, SheFighter follows its own unique self-defense system and curriculum, so all new members begin at the Pink Level to learn our techniques, principles, and training methodology.

The good news is that your previous experience will likely help you progress through the levels more quickly. Depending on your commitment, consistency, and skill development, you may be eligible to test and advance to the Silver Level sooner than someone with no prior martial arts background.

Q: What does it take to become a SheFighter Trainer?

To become eligible to coach at SheFighter, you must first complete our Training of Trainers (TOT) pathway. This begins by successfully completing and testing in both the Pink Level and Silver Level, where you will learn and demonstrate proficiency in the SheFighter system.

After passing these levels, you are required to complete 8 hours of shadowing, observing experienced SheFighter trainers as they lead classes. This allows you to understand our coaching style, class structure, and teaching methodology.

Once your shadowing hours are complete, you will be asked to lead a practical test class, where your coaching skills, technical knowledge, communication, and leadership will be evaluated.

If you successfully pass the assessment, you will become eligible to join the SheFighter coaching team. New instructors are gradually introduced to leading classes, receiving ongoing support and mentorship as they gain experience and confidence.

Q: If I complete the Training of Trainers (TOT) course, will I be able to work with the SheFighter team?

Completing the SheFighter Training of Trainers (TOT) program makes you eligible to coach and lead SheFighter classes. Employment opportunities, however, depend on the availability of positions and the needs of the studio at the time.

When coaching opportunities become available, certified instructors who have successfully completed the TOT program and meet our coaching standards will be considered to join the SheFighter team.

Q: What if I'm already an experienced trainer or martial arts instructor?

We welcome experienced trainers and martial artists! However, because SheFighter follows its own unique self-defense system and teaching methodology, all instructors are required to complete the SheFighter Training of Trainers (TOT) pathway.

Your previous experience will be a great advantage and may help you progress through the program more quickly. However, all trainers must successfully complete the required levels, pass the assessments, complete the shadowing hours, and demonstrate the ability to teach the SheFighter system before becoming eligible to lead classes.

This ensures that every SheFighter trainer delivers a consistent, high-quality experience to our members, regardless of their previous background.

Q: Is there contact and sparring at SheFighter?

At SheFighter, safety is our priority. We do not include contact or sparring in the Pink Level. This level focuses on building foundational skills, confidence, awareness, proper technique, and basic self-defense movements in a safe and supportive environment.

Students begin to introduce controlled contact training starting at the Silver Level, where they develop their skills under the guidance of certified instructors and with strict safety guidelines.

It is only at the Black Level that students progress to semi-sparring training. This is conducted under highly controlled conditions, with proper supervision, protective equipment, and safety protocols in place.

At SheFighter, we never allow punching or kicking to the head under any circumstances. All advanced training is designed to build confidence, reaction skills, and realistic self-defense abilities while maintaining a safe and empowering environment for every student.

Q: Am I going to get injured from the training?

At SheFighter, your safety comes first. Our training is designed to be safe, progressive, and suitable for all fitness levels. While any physical activity carries a small possibility of minor injuries, our structured training system, safety guidelines, and certified instructors help minimize risks.

Our trainers are professionally trained to deliver high-quality instruction, teach proper techniques, and create a supportive environment where students can build confidence safely.

We gradually increase the intensity as students progress through the levels, ensuring that each stage is appropriate for their experience and skill level. Your journey at SheFighter is about becoming stronger, more confident, and more prepared — while training in a safe and empowering space.
